Acupuncturist and traditional herbalist located in Whetstone, North London.

Welcome to my website!
I am a member of The British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and The Acupuncture Fertility Network (AFN) , fully trained in both conventional medicine and Traditional Chinese medicine.
I practice traditional acupuncture and herbalism since 1995.
My main areas of interest are drug-free pain relief and women health.

When I am not in my clinic, I am involved in acupuncture education as a senior lecturer and the member of the Accreditation Committee of the BAcC (BAAB).

I am experienced in treating musculoskeletal and mental conditions. I am passionate about pain relief and keeping my patients drug-free as much as possible.
When relevant, I use Re-spine, an innovative mattress to help relaxing the muscles around the spine and the spaces between the vertebrae (please see Re-spine). As far as I am aware, I am the first therapist in the UK to use Re-spine.

A special are of interest of mine is using Traditional Chinese Medicine for enhancement of female health and fertility. This includes also acupuncture alongside IVF cycles and during pregnancy. I am an associate practitioner of The Women Natural Health Practice .

I also treat skin conditions with Chinese herbal medicine.

I offer acupuncture, acupressure, ear acupuncture, Chinese herbs, cupping and electro-acupuncture.

"We have seen the glory of Acupuncture come to life with continuous results from Shelley’s treatments over the years (migraines, IBS, stress, back pain, general well-being) and recommend Shelley whole heartedly to all our family and friends."

"I have no doubt the acupuncture contributed to letting me have my miracle baby. I am now on baby number two and have acupuncture sessions weekly."
Joanne G.

"Acupuncture is an amazing experience. It feels as if everything falls back in place."

"I recently saw Shelley for a course of acupuncture prior to giving birth to my baby. She was so reassuring, created a calm atmosphere, and tailored our sessions to my needs. She went above and beyond to ensure that she was available regularly to keep up the momentum!! I cannot thank her enough!"
Katie B.

Originating in China more than 2,000 years ago, acupuncture is one of the oldest and most commonly used medical procedures in the world.

The word 'acupuncture' describes a variety of procedures involving stimulation of anatomical points on the body by using a variety of techniques.
The acupuncturist exerts pressure or inserts ultra fine needles at chosen points to stimulate the body’s own healing response and restore its natural balance.

Modern research explores the scientific mechanisms which acupuncture elicit. Acupuncture triggers many physiological effects. For example, recent research shows that the insertion of an acupuncture needle into the skin disrupts the branching point of special nerves called C fibres. These C fibres transmit sensory information to the brain.

Today, acupuncture is considered an effective, natural and increasingly popular form of health care that is being used by people from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds.
